biography

The Midnight Revelry is a 4-piece band in Austin, Texas. It was originally formed as a 5 piece band called Hannah Wright and The Midnight Revelry, by (then) lead singer, Hannah Wright and bassist, Carrie Comeaux in 2021. Since then, the "Southern Rock Revival" sound has carried the band into the heart of the Central Texas music scene, on tour throughout the Southern U.S., on television, and into the recording studio! With an upbeat setlist that ranges from Country, Southern Rock and Pop, it's no wonder the crowd comes and won't leave!

These days, founding member Hannah Wright divides her musical talent between Nashville, TN and Austin, TX. She remains a featured guest vocalist with The Midnight Revelry when in Austin, and The Midnight Revelry still serves as her touring band!

THE BAND

Charlie Murphy

Lead Guitar, Pedal Steel, Vocals

Charlie started playing guitar at the age of five and played his first gig at age seven. By the age of 12 he was gigging professionally, playing acoustic guitar at the bars around the area where he grew up, in upstate New York. Around age 14-15 he began playing bass guitar in a jazz ensemble and by age 15-16 he was playing lead guitar in a country band. At age 20, he started playing pedal steel guitar in addition to lead guitar in various bands. Some of the bands he has played with in the upstate New York area include Country Cookin’, Murphy's Law, Saddle Boogie and Kentucky Thunder (until they had to change their name when Ricky Skaggs hit the scene with his band of the same title). Since moving to Austin in 2009, Charlie has had the opportunity to play with some great bands and artists, including Clint Martin, Red Dirt Rebellion, Next Exit and he even played pedal steel guitar with Wiretree for an Austin City Limits taping in 2010. In 2014 he started his own band, the Charlie Murphy Band, which is still actively gigging around Austin and Central Texas today.

Carrie Comeaux

Bass guitar, Vocals

Carrie's passion for music started young, with a love of classical piano performance and competition. She moved from South Louisiana to Austin after graduate school and took up bass guitar, having always considered bass “the coolest instrument”. She comes from the cover band circuit, having played bass for all female Led Zeppelin tribute Ladies In Led, as well as 90’s alternative cover band Grungeslinger.

Melodie Zapata

Percussion, Vocals

Melodie grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula, about an hour outside of Seattle, Washington. She began playing drums at age 10 in her school band and continued on into many groups, including playing various percussion in symphonic bands and wind ensemble, snare drum and quad toms in marching band, drum kit in instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles, and even professionally in jazz and rock bands around the peninsula and Seattle. At age 18, she earned a full ride college scholarship to study and play drums in the instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles at Olympic College. In her post college career, drumming has kept her busy gigging regularly around the greater Pacific Northwest, Texas, and extensively touring the continental United States, Alaska, and even occasionally Singapore, playing for various bands and artists, including Hell's Belles, Rosie Flores, Danny B. Harvey, Adrian (Conner) and the Sickness, Deann Rene, and the Charlie Murphy Band.

Anthony Watson

Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Vocals

Anthony came up through the Dallas metal scene in the 90s and 2000s. In 2012, he relocated to Austin, where he continues to work on music projects spanning multiple genres. He has been a signed recording and touring artist, and has plenty of experience to back him up.
